The Physics of Tuned Shoes 

Back in 2017, while Vimazi CEO Scott Tucker embarked on his 6 am interval workout, he conceived an idea. He believed that shoes tailored for specific paces could provide superior cushioning and more propulsive stability compared to generic, untuned running shoes. 

It took three years to comprehensively grasp the physics of human running and the transmission of forces. Once the physics were understood, equations predicting running forces were developed. Vimazi can now precisely calculate impact and propulsion forces, measured in Newtons, for any pace, accounting for variations in height, weight, and cadence. The running trial data aligned with the force calculations derived from physics. 

Understanding the precise impact and propulsion forces and their influencing factors enabled Vimazi to design shoe models catering to diverse needs. After years of work, equations were derived to calculate forces in running and walking for specific foot regions and any pace, weight, cadence, or stride length. Developing patented midsole technology required solving an even more intricate puzzle involving identifying impact and propulsion forces and their variations with strike patterns. Creating shoes incorporating this knowledge necessitated attention to midsole shapes, stack heights, and heel-to-forefoot drops. 

The substantial amount of data collected during research validates the fundamental physics behind Vimazi's technology. Unlike exaggerated claims prevalent in shoe technology in recent years, Vimazi's tuned technology is grounded in fundamentals and practicality. 

The Problem with Previous Generation Running Shoes 

Most running shoes exhibit uniform foam density from heel to toe, compromising both shock absorption and stability. To ensure optimal cushioning and stability tailored to the unique biomechanics of running, a shoe must be tuned differently in the heel than the forefoot. 

The Vimazi Solution 

Vimazi addressed this issue by introducing tuned running shoes, a pioneering concept delivering superior shock absorption and stability. In 2023, after extensive testing, seven road shoe models were launched, catering to the needs of runners from novices to elites.
